I've been messing with applets for panoramas. Only tried a few hundred of em so its early days yet. A few people have had viewing problems (just two people) so I'm now using the simplest panorama applet on Earth. Only 3kb with no mouse control at all. This will get me by but I wondered if you had any suggestions for a truly cross-platform pano that loads fast and gives some mouse-drag control. Applet or Flash. See what I have at...

Site continues to preload for a few seconds on entering so stop and admire the first page if links won't work immediately.

Maybe this applet will do? Just wondered about good options.

Great looking site TC ! NICE!!

Richards done alot of Pano work...he's the man on this.......

Just thought I'd tell you, my Zone Alarm pop-up stopper blocked your pop-up window....I got the page from the source....I've had this problem myself with some pop-up scripts (most) and have decided agaisnt them for this reason....most pop-up stoppers may block it, a pain I know sorry, but thought you should know........

Pro Site Andrew.

Thanks Shane. It means a lot coming from you. I miss the banter and great critic and advice from you and Richard on the WS board. I must call by here much more often but WS is what I know so keeping a leg in there too.

I have a small text note about it opening in a popup on the loading page. Thought that would give folks plenty of time to disable the stoppers. Should I make that more obvious?

Thanks Andrew,

I'm just not sure people will disable the stoppers, now I don't know the site's traffic but if they are going to THAT particular site they probably will. The notice is fine Andrew, I've left my pop-ups in a couple of places where the traffic is site specific if you get my drift....the viewers want or in the case of one need, to get into that site.

Basically I'm just not sure casual browsers will. This doesn't mean I'd say remove it, just depends on the traffic (I know you do your homework)

p.s. I forgot to say the applets loaded fine, very fast on broadband.

Hi Andrew, Yeah, visit more often.
I was very impressed with those pano's!! You do have mouse control. I was able to stop them and pan in the x plane. They loaded extremely fast at 1500kbps :) , I looked at the source and realized you do not need a viewer!! A big plus!! Best pano applet I've seen. Flash would be faster, but not by much. You would have more manipulation in flash, but, again, I don't think you need it. They work great! Good find.

Tiny suggestion - red light button above main photo, could be an arrow or something to hint that the photo is a slide show, I hit it out of curiousity, being red I thought it was to stop the panos, but got a slide show! <> may be better. just a minor thing.

The site works great , very clean design, as your per your usual good taste. Pano's are perfect for Real Estate presentations and you have used them in a near perfect way. Impressive!

That is VERY impressive, TC.

It loaded pretty fast for my 56K too. I wonder if it might help on the popup problem to use a bit larger type for the statement that it will pop up in a new window?

I liked all the action too!

The only problem I had was backing out after I had been through the whole site... when I clicked off the window, I got a blank page that said Loaded at the top, but could not back out of it. Maybe my computer... it does wierd things quite often.

Overall, on a scale of 1 - 10, I'd give it about 1,000 :D

Finally!!! After attempting to view TC's page, I finally got to it.

I had to uninstall zone alarm to get it going.

Superb Job!!!
