http://www.elvisuk2.co.uk/

I've a very simple site at the above link, it was a bit of a rush job etc anyway the client reckons it doesn't go past the first page for him, or see the loading bar. I think he may be speaking with forked tongue.

I've tested it to death and it works everytime, I've got others testing it with no problems so far...could anyone with 5 mins just click the link and tell me if it loads...it should be fast 128k

It loaded for me in Netscape 4.7 and 6.2, and IE 6. It took over a minute, but I'm connected through AOL which is the slowest connection on earth at about 19,000 kbps, or whatever that is.

It looks really good!

Flash ho

Yeah, took forever! At least 8 seconds on 1564 kbps (1.5mbps!!) sorry, Nik, couldn't resist.

Who was Elvis? I'll have to ask my Grandpa if he remembers Elvis.

I still think you need Elvis to Gyrate like the uk club babe.

Nice site!!

Thanks guys/Gal...

I'll make the c....... cl client, yeah thats the word ,client,.. gyrate lol, if I'd known having to go to my Great Great Grandpa Shane & the Museum Of History to find out who Elvis was, then rush the site....then find a white label of JXLV Elvis.....then he pay buttons & slow buttons at that......

Well if I'd have to do all that & then make the HUGE mistake of giving him my cellphone #..........well I wouldn't of bothered....I should've left him RIP. (Elvis I mean, never killed a client...yet)

However Richard if he phones me again Elvis may gyrate and Flash Red & Blue too........

Thanks again people..(sites c***ola lets face it...)..if anyone else can take a look........

(BTW According to what I found out Elvis was a Boxer who refused to join the Army, he changed his name to Muhammed Richard Nixon in the late fifties..., my G.G.Grandad said so....)

It loaded fast for me on my 56k and Compuserve, which I think is just another AOL. Nice site; I like the scroll action too.

Something is missing.... either he needs to dance or have a box, chair or something under that right foot. :D

Shane

Thanks Helen,

I agree on the chair thing, but he's been dead 20 odd years...he's doing his best..............more buttons he gets a chair

Loaded superfast for me on 56K. Think I'm connected at a whopping 31.2 kbps!!!! 56K. Easy to navigate, scroll, etc. Looks great!

I just got Elvis' #1 Hits Album that is at the top of the charts here. Never cared for him too much, when I was younger. But, he has a couple of songs I really love.

Great site, Shane!!! If you need me to get the boys from the South Park Waste Management Company over to "talk" to your client. Just let me know!!!

Shane

Thanks Karen,

I may need the South Park Waste Manage Crew yet, honest :D
Keep them on standby. The site isn't all that, three rectangles, bit of text & about 8 photos lol & thats that. But thats all he paid for.

Same as you about Elvis, never really got it.....but then I hear the odd song & think yeah thats cool............I mean it was the year 1812 or something when he was gyrating........didn't he also invent the Whopper Cheeseburger ?? (with large fries).....

His latest was oh yeah it loads now but can the loading bar be bigger, guess he had a point.....I made it bigger.

You do such professional looking sites. Instant load for me on cable.

Elvis is like JFK.........I remember where I was and what I was doing when I heard about their deaths. Kinda tells my age.

Yeah not fair! You always make the women on your sites "gyrate" but not the guys. Boooooooooo!

Anyway cool site I like it. I love the music as always. (No off button? You usually have one.) Loaded for me in about 20 secs.

On the page Vol. One Press > Record Collector > throroughnesss should be thoroughness. And just curious On the Vol. 2 Extract page under his picture it says "Deleted April 1993." What does deleted mean? I know what it means but what does it mean there?

Hey wasn't he in the mafia?

Thanks Ladies.....

Jan thanks for taking the time JFK dying I don't remember, but Elvis I do.......I was sat in MacDonalds.....

He was cool, I think it was Frank Sinatra in the mafia Dusty, word was Elvis was working for the Drug Unit of the FBI........seeing as he was buying half of the Columbian imports probably a nice position to take...he was presnted with his badge etc just before he had to go into the Witness Protection Schem.......OOps I mean just before he died.....Conspiracy theory abound on Google.......

Thanks for the tips Dusty, taken them onboard fixed the typo and added off button.

The deleted thing meant the year that record was deleted and stopped being pressed. It was confusing........I've removed it..again thanks girls.....

Loaded real fast on my 56K. Still listening as I type. All looks great to me except one detail - why are visitors sending order to this guys home?? Write the cheque for his personal bank account and mail to his house. Makes it look like he's selling a few copies "off the back of a lorry". Couldn't he get a PO box? ElvisUK2, PO Box xxxx. Would look better to me.

Even a business bank account would look better......points taken, Thanks Again...

Be interseting to know how sales go. Can you divulge that sort of info?

Elvis - That Colonel Tom fella must go down in history as the worlds worst manager. Dolly Parton was on the Frank Skinner show saying how Elvis wanted to cover one of her songs but Colonel Tom always insisted on a 50% cut of song dues and Dolly was way too smart to drop her "pension fund". When the Beatles were making music history Elvis was poncing around Hawaii making bad movies with wailing women. Elivis did whatever Parker said and Parker was just looking for the nest easy big buck. Hardly surprising the guy went the way he did. Wasted.

Other good Dolly quotes from Skinners show - "It takes a lot of money to make me look this cheap". On the morals of plastic surgery - "Oh hell, if it drags, bags, or sags just go get it done, I'm far more worried how I'd look without it".
Good girl and nobody's fool.

Hey there Shane!

Just wanted to tell you that this is a REALLY great site! I think the simplicity works VERY well with it. It loads really fast and the music is nice and crisp! You do awesome work!

Thanks for checking Dawn.........I always value your input....

TC not sure if I could divulge, but I wouldn't know anyway....I do know they are on Volume Two though and turned down a publishing deal to publish & distribute it themselves.....

Helen
11-29-2002, 05:14 PM
That's a pretty good deal to pass up... wonder if they know how much
it costs to publicize before they have anyone to distribute to?

Or maybe they have already got their niche going? if they have!

Shane
11-29-2002, 08:51 PM
Yes, I agree Helen.........but this is a long time project going back at least 18 years since research on Vol One began...that was published in 1986.

It is a very specialised book that is sold through various International Fan Clubs, Specialist Fairs, Major Music magazines etc...It's also an expensive book! I guess they know their market & you can take a horse to water etc..

I do know they have a distruption network from Vol One (which had a deal)..........Hey I just built the website......... :D :D

Now if it was Elvis Costello I might have spent more time on it
