Hi Crystal!,
It is a good idea to post your url, so people can find your site. ( Just in case, it isn't in their favorites, LOL)
http://www.crystalzgoodies.com/ correct?
You have done tons of work!! Great potential here! Pretty soon, you'll be writing snowglobe tutorials! You are getting buttons on every page, that's good, so peeps won't have to use the back button to navigate. It is coming along just fine. Keep up the good work!
Most pages load pretty fast, but a few, "about me" for example is slow. As your site is allot of graphics, people will expect a short wait, so not a major problem. Just think "optimize" with everything thing you add to site. Like " how can I get this to be a smaller file size, with out loosing quality"
Things to consider - Custom comet cursor, slows things down, it always asks me to download it, I don't . Do you really need it?
You may want. no, you need to use a spell checker. I think you web building program has one, if not, copy paste text into word and run a check :)
You are a fast learner! Site is looking better and better.
Have fun!!!!!

Hey Sista....
You have been busy.....looking great.....
Flash Ho's got some great points I'd agree with all of them, so won't repeat them......lose the cursor though, it just slows stuff down and people are wary of downloads, most won't download it.
You've loads of stuff there anyway, cursor not needed in my opinion, but remember these are just opinions, if you like it alot..you keep it
The Ascii Art sections are very good, lot of work time there, like them alot.
Its great stuff Crystal you are realling getting into it now, keep us updated on your progress of course lol
VERY GOOD! I'm in complete agreement with Flash Ho and Shane. There is plenty to like. You have done a great job in a short span.
I share the same feeling as Flash about Comet Cursor. I ignore it. Like Shane says the thing that matters most in life is that YOU like it.
Remember that the comments we express here or simply our individual opinions. Everyone has their own opinions about the use of frames, Flash, music, etc. While we all want to think that everyone will like a product we produce - be it a book or song or apparel, that just won't happen in life - so please yourself. A friend's wife is an author who when she first started out in her writing career, submitted is a romance novel and had numerous rejections. One publisher accepted the same novel and she is now a popular novelist touring the country.
Keep it up and most of all HAVE FUN DOING IT! :squeeze:

I thank you all for the good advise, and your right on the comet cursor,
but I only had one on my site, but I really don't know why I added it to begin with, optimize is going to be the hardest to me I think, ok I need to learn that, and need to know how to make my files smaller some pages is still not much on them I am working on it when I can and I am having fun to, and some times I want to scream, ws is giving so many illigal errors
on it, I go to open it up and boom the error, then a big graybox comes up
saying unknone error has accured on it, the box is blank other then that,
I am making more graphics to add to my site, I am going to upload more offten, my guest map from bravenet is empty other then the one they left on it, and who am I kidding? i am a failer a looser that can't do anything right, and I know it stinks bad so please ya'll I know that when ya'll say you liked my work your trying to make me feel better, all I ask is for you to be honest about it k? that is all I ask... Helen and you are my buddies
my bros and sissys,
Helen

Your website is always a fun place to visit. I have to admit, I have not seen the map thingy before and thought it was really neat.
I have to agree, the comet cursor is a pain, but more than that... I had that once on a site, decided to get rid of it.... and found it almost impossible. It would follow me everywhere I went surfing the web and kept popping up asking me to download it. Don't remember now just how I did finally get it out of my computer.
You can trust what friends tell you here. We all know we can be honest to help each other; that no one will get their feelings hurt. :D

Thank you helen :), its not that any off you hurt my feelings. its I hurt
my own, lol the man thingy is a good name for it, I was just playing with PSP, and wanted to place it on my site lol,
Hi Crystal. Which version of WS are you using? If it's 3.0, did you download and install the update to 3.01? If you are using 3.0, and you haven't updated it, perhaps that would eliminate your illegal errors.
Just a suggestion

Hi Crystal, I got your e mail and will give you a "how to optimize" tutorial/guide tonight. Maybe we can inlist Dusty to do one of her complete spelliung/grammer ( intentional) checks.
Dusty?
On edit - Have you installed the ws v3 fix, I think it is 3.01. It is free, go to www.webstudio.com and find the download area. It may help with your error problem. Also, work with only one page open at a time.

Hi Crystal,
WOW!!! You've been busy!!! The site looks wonderful! With a little graphic optimization for added speed in loading, it will be AWESOME! Love your snowglobes. I'm just starting to learn to do animated ones and I KNOW the work that goes into them. Your ASCII art is neat too!!!
If you are getting errors because of memory drain, you might try to do entry pages for each of your sections with your graphics, pics, etc. as thumbnails opening up to custom windows. They will load quicker and folks will be able to view them all and then they can click on ones that they would like to see larger. Just a thought!
I LOVE all of your beautiful background and button sets that you've used in your different sections. But, if you would like the pages to load even quicker, you might think about doing one background and navigation scheme and use it throughout your site. WS has some neat tutorials on how you can work with repeated graphics so that they load at lightning quick speed.
But everything you've done is wonderful. I wish I had 1/2 of your artistic talent ... and at 13? Amazing!!! YOU ROCK GIRL!!!! (and I'm not just saying that to be nice. I MEAN IT!!!!) :D

Hi Crystal,
Go here
http://theflashho.com/crystal.html
you will need the flash6 player, if you don't have it, go here
http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash
It is 60k, so give it a minute to load ( no preloader). I just threw it together, but it should get you started and hopefully shed some optimized light.

I will use the tutorial you posted on the optimize, but now I am having problems with a site cartman gave me on Jeans tutorial making repeated images and backgrounds, the repeated backgrounds is kinda easy,
I just played with it testing it, got the same image to repeat as background on more then one page, but, the repeated image/graphic is not so easy. I got them to display on the pages, but the links wont work,
like say I have one wanting to link to backgrounds, well in preview I clicked on the button it wont link, I tried to drag a link from the link menu
to that button and it wont stick to it, it shows a hand with a circle marked out, then I tried going into the html content and typing the url in it still wont work, and I am also wanting to know if I can still have the diffrent buttons for on the diffrent pages, or does it have to be the same button displaying on all the pages? I want the same layout but with diffrent buttons, but how? I can't grt the links right, I went through the hold intire tutorial, and now I am really confused,, I have removed everything on my home page is blank now except my background...
please help! thank you :(
Hi Crystal. The problem you're having with not being able to drag links onto your repeated images is because they're not really "images" to WS anymore. They're html objects. To add links to repeated images, you'll have to type them in manually, where you put the code to repeat the image. As an example:
Instead of using this code:
images/yourimagename.gif
Use this one:
<A HREF="yourlinkhere.html">
images/yourimagename.gif
Am I making sense?

Ok you pesky Cartman, you keep beating me to it and said everything I was going to say!

(plagiarism at it's best)
Crystal I checked out your site and I think it's totally cool  I really love the Ascii Art and your sense of colors!
(On that page I noticed that although the cursor turned to a hand the links for Buttons 1 & 2 didn't work for some reason.)
I know it can get frustrating but don't get down on yourself. Ummm, unlike someone we know and love who's been hanging around for over a year, (we won't name names  ) at least you've got your site up and looking good. You've got a lot of talent so take deep breaths, breaks or go for a walk and then come back and keep up the good work! Most important have fun! If you need any help just ask.
PS...Think of learning to handle frustration as training for when you start going out with guys. Lots of years from now of course! lol!

I will keep trying untill I die, even though I want to scream lol, thank you all for the compliments, it means alot to me to know you all here are helping me :), *huggs* thank you for the fixing on my links, I will also work on the buttons 1 and 2, thank you for telling me... I wonder if It will be better to redo everything on my site? when I am going to try the repeating things? I am going to take a break tonight though, my eyes are hurting and I am yawing till trars is coming out of my eyes, thank you again and good night, may angels watch over all of you, :)

@Dusty - those days are over! (well, mostly:)
Crystal - an idea - a site needs to have something consistent on each page so viewer knows he is still in your site and needs to have consistent linkage to rest of site. Most people do this with the following, same logo each page, same buttons, same or similar background. Here is the idea. Let the buttons vary from page to page, but make their location and sizes similar, but designs differant. Make backgronds the same, but vary colour slightly and make one strong logo exactly the same on each page. The downside of this is new butons will have to download for each page, so keep the file size small. just an idea, may not be what you need.
