Need advice from some of you "creative minds" arou

I was approached about a month ago by ElectricArtists in NYC. They do a lot of promotional stuff for the big movie studios, TV studios, etc. Well, they did a promotion for Comedy Central and the new batch of South Park episodes that are just airing.

They sent me these really neat promotional CD-ROMS that they created. They've managed to put games, downloads, a screensaver and Flash clips from the best shows from 1997-2002!!! on these things. REALLY, REALLY cool. Anyway, I want to run a promotion on the site to give some of these away.

Any ideas on what I could do? I don't want it to be as simple as: "Hey, ask and it's yours". These are really cool collectibles that they won't be able to get anywhere else. I think they were given out at some record stores and colleges in preppy towns, but were limited.

I've been trying to tie it into something on my site and have been coming up dry. Any neat ideas? Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks, guys!

That's great news, Karen! Why not have a contest or drawings for Grand Opening Door Prizes? Or, maybe gve one with a certain $amount order?

I like the idea of a treasure hunt. Click around the site or other sites on the Net finding answers to the clues.

That's a great idea! But I think I would want to keep them on the site as long as possible. :)

Very true. Well you could add pages over a few weeks, pages containing the next clues or part of the story etc. This would ensure that no-one solved it on day 1, and keep them re-visiting.

You could do a quiz thing like Who Said What or Who did what in Southpark. One entry per day and winners posted every night or something like that.

How about a contest for the best caption. You put up a pic and viewers add the caption. You could use a blog or a guest book / message board so everyone could see the entries, then after Date x , viewers could vote for their favorite caption.

WOW!!! All great ideas, folks! Thanks! Last night I was thinking of having a contest aimed more at "collectors" rather than "fans" and have folks submit photos of their most unusual or rare SP collectible. I already have extra gallery pages set up and I could post them there with the names of the submitters and the most unusual would win. Then, I could run different types of contests aimed at collectors each month to give away the other 8 (OK, I kept one for my collection!) :lol:

A quiz would be great for one. And, I like the caption idea too. Thanks, guys. You always come through!!! :D
