Ken and I usually KNOW some of the gifts we get each other. He asks me what I want and I ask him. Then, we go out and get a couple of surprises for each other. If he doesn't like anything that I get him, I'm easy. We can take them back and get what he wants. And vice-versa. No hurt feelings. But, we've done pretty well. Not too many trips back to the store.

With other family members and friends, I always LOVE whatever I get. I'd never tell anyone. It's the thought that counts.

Arleen and I do the same as you, Karen. We usually buy one surprise gift for each other. The other presents we already know more are less what they are.

I always had a problem with my mom and sister over the years. Clothes - when I got married in '68, I weighed 129#. They would buy me "medium" shirts and sweaters. I now weigh 180 and have for the last 25 years. They still bought me "medium". What we have here is a failure to "see".

I don't have a "significant other" in my life.

I can only cross my fingers and hope that one day my idol (freddy carter) will notice that i'm alive and beat my door down to get in my home.

He's the one that came to work (after a co-worker called him) and gave me a happy bday card for my #50 back in Feb.
