Just checked your site
http://www.crystalzgoodies.com/index.html

There is tons of new stuff there!!! Graphics 1 page is amazing!!!

Maybe, you are not clearing your cache? Hit refresh while holding down the ctrl key. if that doesn't work, go to top tool bar>tools>internet options>delete temporary internet files.

I misinformed you above, user name is differant, use a z instead of an s.

Forget the cache, as you are all set!
You have done tons of work!! And it looks good!!

A small suggestion - come up with a navigation bar that can remain the same on each page, it will "visually unite" your site, tie it all together, make people realize they are still on your site. and it wll help users navigate to your pages. Nav at bottom is ok, but you really need a consistant nav graphic ( nav bar).

Hi Crystal,
Yeah, buttons work the same. I was just saying they should be easy to find on each page and always offer a way back to home and to other pages. On some of your pages, you have to hunt for navigation buttons. look at

http://www.nikks.com or

http://www.jansown.com

and see how they have buttons in same place on each page. Try something similar.

Send me the photo, and the size. I'll send it back with a "how to" guide so you can do it yourself next time.

I'm not 13, not 33, not 41. :)

Crystal, that is NOT a bad site, it is a wonderful site!

I think I may know what Richard means, partly. It is usually considered best to have the same background on all pages of a site, more so if it is a business site. Personal sites like yours is, have no rules... you can just make all the pages however you like.

The problem comes when the menu system does not look the same on all the pages. Since the pages are so different looking, although they are beautiful, a viewer might think they have followed a link that took them off to another site. (Because most websites do have links that go to other sites.)

So you really should use only one type of menu for all the pages, it can be any type you like.. buttons, text links, mouse overs, whatever. But the group of them should look the same and be in the same place on every page, usually on the upper left side of the pages. That makes the viewer know they are still on YOUR site. It also gives your whole site an organized, consistant look.

The page links at the bottom of pages are fine to have also, especially if small text, so the visitor can choose another page without scrolling back up to the menu.

I can't help with the image problem, but someone will be along to help with that I'm sure.

You have done a great job, and I know it is going to get better and better as you learn new things. :D

PS.... Looks like Flash Ho was here and posted while I was writing this long post! See how fast you get help around here?

Is ok on the nav bars, I found some tutorials for it, I will probley redo my buttons sometime not know when tho, the reason I put them loike that is I don't like scroll bars, weird I guess, Jans templets looks so awsome I want to be as good as her, she does wonderful work, and nikki is the same awsome as Jans, I love the curcus, what so hard is making everthing right in its place, mom said she didn't have the curage to do this
thats why she quiet, lol, is there anyway I can make a graphic for my guessbook? the psp image slicer is hard to use, I tried to slice up a image for buttons I used the html in the cool stuff html object, but all I got was boxes with red x in them I even attached one of the images, nothing happened, how do I do that?
thank you all you have been wonderful :)

Hi KK, I got your e mail, I send it back in a few minutes. On the html that slicing produces, you need to add $thisfolderurl$ before each image in the html name. like this

$thisfolderurl$/image.jpg

attach all images that psp produces to html content, then add code , with $bla bla.. , in html content

or! drag all the sliced images on to ws page and line them up by hand! hard but it will work.

Helen will be here shortly explaining this better I'm sure!

Ck your mail KK.

here is the "how to"

open psp
file>open>browse to image
top tool bar>image>resize
resize using wizard, either by putting in pixel size or percentage
then, File>export>jpg optimizer ( use jpg for photos, gif for art, usually)
set compression ( for example an 8 will give good qualityand a high file size, while an 88 will give poor quality and low file size)
Once you have a happy compromize, save it as "a new name" like crystal3.jpg.
Now your original is still on psp, DO NOT SAVE IT. closing it, a window asks "save this?' say NO! this always keeps your original for later edits.
Now, say you exported at 50% size, but want one at 25% size, - don't close original, go back to
Image>resize and reduce it then export it and save as say crystal4 or whatever, as long as it is differant.

Helen

ohhhh ok, I can tell you how to do that for an image. :)

Until just now, when I looked at your page source code,
I thought you had used the HTML Object for all those
animations. I ALWAYS had to use it for them in WS2.
So I guess you don't need it for them in WS3.

If I understand this correctly, you have one image that
is in several pieces? Unless you are better than me with
HTML, you would be better off to just put them on the
page and line them up.

Anytime you want to put more than one image in the HTML
Object, you will need to know some html code in order to
place them where you want them on the page. If you don't
know html yet, you would need to put one image in each HTML
Object, then line them all up. Being able to see them on the
page, so that you can line them up, is why you would use the
Place Holder Graphic tab.

Someone recently mentioned that Sam has a movie tutorial on
using the HTML Object on Gord's help site. I have not seen it
yet, but if there is one, it would be better than my explanation.
But just in case, I will try:

In the galleries, click on the Cool Stuff tab.
Drag the HTML Object onto the page.
Richt click on the HTML Object.
Click on Properties in the pop up list.
Click the Attatched Files tab.
Click on Add Files To List button.
Find the image that you want to use in the browse box.

Note: It is a good idea to make a folder named images. Put it
in the C directory of your hard drive. Make a habit of putting
all your images in this folder and leave them there. (If you move
images around, Web Studio can not find them next time and you
will get a "failure to load page" when you try to preview the page
later on in Web Studio.)

Highlight the image file that you just located, then click open.
You will now see it in the HTML Object window.
(Notice the exact spelling of the image name, including whether
there are any capital letters, because you must use it exactly that
way in your code.)

Now Click on the HTML Content tab. This is where you put your
HTML code for your image, like this:
$thisfolderurl$imageName.jpg
Click OK.
(You must put $thisfolderurl$ because that tells the viewer's
browser to look in this page folder for your image.)

That's it! The HTML Object is most used for html scripts, like
counters, applets, etc. Some have images and that is how you
would add the image so it will show up on your Web Studio page. :D
