Ask Jeeves uses other search engines for most of his listings, but in the UK at least the top line answers are simple. You email him. He reckons he's a busy guy, but he always found time for me. It's meant to be a big secret, but letting cats outta bags is fun. This works for the UK & I guess most USA sites wouldn't mind being listed on ask.co.uk. Be patient 3/4 months turnaround is not unusual, but being ignored is (you will get listed if your site is okay). You'll kick yourself when you see the email address. Include a brief (4 word) title and under 15 word site description. Just add a line saying 'Please consider my site for listing' then the title & description. Don't add anything else, love letter type length emails will get them deleted.
I didn't post this. Oh no I didn't.
