Anyone else tried the new Opera7 yet? It's excellent. The thing works better than my IE, faster and seems lighter on my system and the ad banners gone from the top. More options than you can shake a stick at and the download skins are endless. Some examples from the "most popular" skins list... I don't have WinXP so this first one is great - even an NS7 skin too...

Fast and fun. The only alternative browser to my mind.

Jeesh, no takers? Ok I'll rave about it some more. I can...
*Search Google, Lycos, Amazon etc. right from the URL bar. Add my own engines to the list too.
*Enable and disable features are right on the user interface - not hidden in deep options. Enable/disable gif animations, audio, javscript, java, plugins, and even Popup Windows - just a click away on the toolbar menu.
*Right click the URL box and your options are "Paste" or "Paste and GO!"
*Change color schemes, Make tea in forty five languages.
Well, I like it :|

Hmm...IE 6.0 only makes tea in 22 languages...maybe this is worth looking into...
Where can I download it?

Don't be put off by the nasty look. Click... "View", "Skin", "Get Skins"
And you get to...

Don't forget to... "File", "import", Internet Explorer Favorites". Looking around all the options takes a while.

Downloaded about 2 hours ago. Not only does it make tea, but coffee too! Expresso!
My first impressions and "things that are cool"
Stop pop ups, unless it is a requested link
Open differant windows with tabs, easy to bounce around from window to window
Can make the toolbars very tiny! More real estate.
Can zoom pages
Can customize Everything!
Going to play with the mail options now, this could be better than outlook at this rate. Glad you twisted my arm TC.
Downside
browser ads start in 14 days, unless you purchase it, bummer.........

Ok, surfing with it now...it's quick it seems...but I also feel like I'm cheating on my wife for some reason...it's different...and a bit strange...but I kinda like it...

Glad you guys like it. I think your review is better than mine Richard :)
I only installed so I can test my stuff with the latest version but after surfing a few of my sites and trying some skins I found myself liking it more and more. Didn't know about the 14 days. I can see that Opera is not something to treat lightly any more. This thing is serious software - developing into a Pro browser. Microsoft are gonna have to watch out!

What's the deal with the mail...is it safer than OE? Or am I gonna get a nasty surprise?

I don't know, Joe. I'm waiting for someone to go first! :)
I think you can have both working at the same time, like incred. mail, but not quite sure. I may get the ***** tomorrow and set it up.
So far I love it. But haven't gotten a divorce yet.

I set up the email but I can't find a send/receive button! I sent myself mail from my outlook account to the opera mail and received it with no problem.

Change is scarey but options are good http://www.click-smilie.de/sammlung/mini/mini019.gif. I'm using both browsers, whichever I fancy on the moment. I believe Netscape and Opera are aiming to comply with correct browser standards. I'm thinking I'm more likely to build sites for correct standards if I'm using a stricter browser myself.
I don't understand the mail??? Is this thing like online email, like Neo Mail? Or is this downloading mail to a folder on my disk like Outlook Express? I can't find a "mail" folder.

Lagging on this one but d/l now..........comes highly recommended eveywhere but THESE reviews I trust.....you really started something here TC.......designing for 'scrict browser standards' & using same makes total sense.
Nice one TC.

I set up the email just like in outlook, but I can't find a way to put a link to it on my desktop. I think you can only use it with the browser open.

I can't find a way to do a desktop icon either, but seeing as you can do everything else, maybe it is hiding somewhere. I 'll send it to the wish list.
At the moment, NN6 is the most compliant browser, excluding Opera. I dress opera as ie, so the change isn't so great waking up to my new browser. During the heat of passion, I keep calling opera, "Ie" and that makes for a miserable day. Opps....
Moving on, I really like the way it loads images, sorta like progressive loading. I have only touched the surface of the multitude of features, but so far it beats ie by miles.

Don't have time to check or I'll miss my bus! Wouldn't want to do that.

I only just figured this but to open a new (empty) browser window you just double click free space next to the page tabs. Cool! Anyone else got any tips please post here - help me master it quickly.

Hmmm...I'm starting to really dig this browser! IE who?
Thanks for the push TC!
I'm lagging behind as usual. Things have been hectic at work. We are switching from Windows Workgroups to Novell Workgroups. I leave home at 6am and get home at 10pm. I don't have much time to review anything at the moment but I must admit the reviews here make me at least want to try Opera over NS.

Not much time here either. Things are flying!! I've kinda switched back to using both I.E. and Opera. Text displays way too large in my Web-mail using Opera and a couple of other minor niggles but I'll look forward to seeing Opera8 with great anticipation. If they added just a few more features then it could really catch on big time. If my I.E. were to have problems again I'd feel well at home using Opera instead.
Jeesh Fred, I'd take it over Netscape7 any day.

I got as far as down loading it the other night, now I can't find it, so I'll have to dl it all over again.
I like "options." Any thing that has to do with cheating & skins, I'm all for! Just kidding!
Hey Fred, 16 hour days? Better take care, we don't want you to get run down and get sick again! (I have to nag you guys every once in awhile just to keep in practice.)
