My forum now has a chat room!

Hey all ... I'm fast approaching 1,000 threads on my forum. Actually, it would be even more, but I've done some pruning since I started. I can't believe it!!! Some of the members asked for a chat room, so I used the phpMyChat on Cpanel. I had to leave the database and replace the files with a download from phpMyChat's home because one of the admin files got screwed up, when it got transferred. So, I kept the database that cPanel set up and just put the info into the new config file. Didn't want to be running the thing without admin functions.

Someone is working on a mod for a chat for phpBB, but it's just in Beta testing and I didn't want to be a guinea pig. When they get the bugs out of it, might be an interesting one to try; although this one works just fine. But, if anyone wants to check it out and see what it looks like:

Hi jan,

A lot of cool php scripts offered by RSH. If they had these things back when I first started, I wouldn't have needed WS at all. Just string a bunch of these together and customize them! :lol:

I still don't understand php scripts that well. Jeesh, one little space and the thing goes nanners!!!! And customizing? Trying to find the file you need to customize takes me hours! So many of the php scripts take their information from several other pages ... it's a challenge, I'll tell ya.

I'd say I'm learning something, but I'm not quite sure yet!!! :shock:

Seems to be faster than IM ever is. I don't know if that's a good comparison or not. But, seems fast to me. :roll:
