I have a forum member who has not been able to access my site (he says) for the last couple of days. He gets to the splash page. He clicks on enter and it stalls until he gets a Gateway time-out error. He had even put a direct link to the forum in his favorites and it doesn't work.

I've had no problems with the forum ... and judging by the posts ... no one else has either.

Is there something that would cause one or two people not to be able to access the site? Perhaps he just has a glitch in his cache that he should clear? He keeps asking me what's wrong with my site. But, to me ... nothing is wrong with it.

One of them "mysteries of Life" I guess.

Firewall or Filter is my guess. Remember when I could not access your PetalPerfect site at work? It was restricted by WebSense because it came inder the heading of Sports. Sports!!! Yes, Sports. It made no sense to me eather. He may have some filter especially if he is accessing from a business.

I cannot access any CPanels or Horde Webmail with my new employer. same reason

They had all computers locked till 6AM so no one could access during off hours. I had that changed.

They deleted the "Run" option in Start

Big Brother is watching.

Seems he took the URL for the forum and just typed it into the address line and it went through. So, then he saved the page again as a favorite. Then, he had two favorites for the forum (same URL) one works and one doesn't. So, somethings up with the first one. But, it's his machine, not my site.

Now, that would be neat to have going for ya ... when someone puts your URL as a favorite. Make sure that it can never be deleted or written over! Favorites for LIFE!!!!! Talk about a captive audience ... literally!

It's wierd too ... sometimes friends send emails saying that my regular email kept sending the emails back undeliverable. So, then they used my mail from Cpanel (webmaster@collectingsouthpark.com) and it goes through. Now, that's strange, because I have access that mail, as well, through my ISP connection. They both come to the same place. So, why would one kick back non-deliverables and one go through? :?:

Puters - what can I say? No one understands them. Logic seems to go out the window. :angry1:
