He got a virus on his computer so may not be around for a few days:

I have to reinstall all my serial numbers and drivers for all the programs, lost e mail addyu book, lost cookis and passwds. Luckily, all my files are ok, both hd 's are fine. My system files got corrupted so wein 2k could n't repair itself so had to do a fresh os install. put it into a new folder which may not have been a good idea as eveything looks for files in winnt, not " my frikkin new os folder" . oh well. this is going to take days,

I'm back! Thanks to windows search function, I have imported my old address book and may be able to get back my cookies and passwords.


" my frikkin new os folder" has turned out to be a good idea, as the original stuff didn't get over ridden by the new os installation. everything is still there, just a matter of finding it!

Things I have learned - AVG will create a system recovery disk for you.

anti virus doesn't always protect you from exe files.

mIRC is evil. well, at least my version.

This could be a good thing, as I'm cleaning off allot of junk .( I keep telling myself that over and over)
