I am doing a SP promotion in conjunction with ElectricArtists for the the NEW episodes that will be airing soon. Part of the promotion are links to download an exclusive screensaver.

I put the links on my site and they work fine. I downloaded the Win version of the screensaver. In my display, it's listed, but when you preview it, it says: There is either not enough memory or the screensaver has been damaged and you should download it again. When you set the screensaver to come on ... you get the same message.

But ... if you go to the folder in Wins and access it directly, it plays just fine.

The screensaver is Flash 6.0. My question is ... how come it works from the file in Wins. and not from the display panel? Is there something that you have to adjust?

Could I get a couple of volunteers to download the screensaver from the link on my site and tell me if it works from their display panel?

Thanks. The download is at http://collectingsouthpark.com/A_Fun_Site_For.html

Download takes approx. 2-1/2 mins. on 56K, so it's pretty fast. Thanks,
guys!

ON EDIT: I went back into Wins and located the screensaver files. There is one that is Flash 6.0. If clicked. It starts the screensaver. And, there's another file (regular screensaver file), that when clicked opens the screensaver. I deleted the screensaver file. I went into the recycle bin and restored it. When I went into display panel screensaver, it was on the list, but was not installed at the default. I chose it from the list and NOW it works from the screensaver/control panel. Wierd, huh? I guess when it loads as the default, something gets messed up. But, I'm hoping that everyone who downloads it doesn't have to go through this whole song and dance!

Hi Karen,

I just downloaded it and the preview worked and it also worked normally. The only problem I had was I had to click Ctrl+Alt+Del to get back from preview and also normally to get back. :?: It's a real cute screensaver. I might uninstall it and download it again to see if it will work. The links worked.

Hi Dusty,

Thanks for checking. Actually, what you have to do to get out is to click either the South Park sign or the Comedy Central logo (which of course are links to Comedy Central and the South Park Studios site). But, when you click on them, the link opens at the bottom of your screen and you go back out to wherever you came from. I don't know if that's a FLASH thing or not. I've never had a FLASH screensaver installed before.

For some reason, that was my problem, when I first downloaded it. It puts a FLASH file AND a screensaver file in Windows and makes the screensaver your default one. For me, it didn't work from the default spot. But, when I deleted it and then restored it from the Recycle Bin, it restored it further down on the screensaver list. Then, if I chose it from the list, it worked fine? Maybe FlashHo can explain that one!

When you mouseover on the South Park sign image, an alien visitor shows up. Pretty cool. It's kind of a thing with their animators. In every episode, they sneak in a visitor somewhere. It's cool to watch the eps and try to find them. They're usually pretty well hidden.
