scanner lines

hiya hehehe is me again.
I was trying to scan clipings from a magazine, and when I brought it up in my paint program it had the scan lines on it, is there a way I can remove them? thank a bunch, :dance: :mrgreen:

Hi Crystal,

Couple of tips, not sure if it'll help or not. Use a white sheet of paper or two behind the pics when scanning. & Make sure the lid is closing properly, most scan line errors are due to light leaking in from the sides. Put a book or two on the lid if unsure, nothing too heavy though. I find second or third scans are better quality as I think the scanner is hotter by then...this may be just me though :) ...

..In my scanning programme I have the option to select 'Descreen' this should help to reduce the moire' pattern associated with newspaper photos, as they are made up of thousands of dots, doing this along with Shanes tip as well should work alright..

I tried all the ideas ya'll gave me and it worked fine for me.
