I need to point name servers from
Name Server.......... yns1.yahoo.com
Name Server.......... yns2.yahoo.com
to RS / 360pano servers.
I spent 2 hours on the yahoo/geocities site/help pages/search/forums etc etc to no avail. I have the user/pswd for the act.
any links to re directing the name servers???

You can't control yahoo's nameservers in any way.
Normally you point domain names to other domain names, not
nameservers to other nameservers. They should have some sort of
domain name redirect or forward option in your domain name
management area for the names that you bought from them.
The only way you can put your 360 ns on a domain name you have at
yahoo, is create an account for the domain name in your reseller account,
upload to it, and change from yahoo ns to 360 ns in their management
area.
I do know that during our transition to a new server, the old server IP #s
were redirected to the new server IP#s, so there would be no downtime
or loss of mail, etc. during the move. But this is not intended to be a
permanent thing and was done in the server root configuration area, only
by the techs.
Or... maybe I don't understand yet what you're trying to do? :)

a client register his domain name thru yahoo and set up a yahoo web site. he has since hired me to do his site and to host it. somewhere hidden very deep is his name server info pointing to yahoo - yns2.yahoo.com I want it to go to ns1.360pano..com, problem !! neither he or I can find a way to re direct his name server to 360. Know where it is? I've looked in file management, and everywhere else, help

Ok I see what you want to do and that should not be this difficult as that is a very common proceedure.
I've never seen inside yahoo's domain name admin area, and not sure I'd
have any better luck. But if you want to email me the login addy & info,
I'll see what I can find out.
Possibly, you may have to email their support (surely they have a support
email adddy?) or call them.

I pm'd you the user name and pswd
and I got this message ( got it earlier today too, hence double posts)
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: from() in /home/webmastr/public_html/forum/privmsg.php on line 1304
I'll e mail youi the user/pswd too
telephone yahoo? yeah, right, like I have 3hours to kill while on hold waiting for a non english speaking support robot. It is easier to get help from a McDonalds drive thru window and the speaker quality is almost as good. :)
e mailed them 6 hours ago, no reply yet
Hope you can find it! Thanks!!

Ok here's what I think, for what that's worth, lol.
I finally got into the "small business area" but never could find the domain
control panel they mentioned.
I don't think anyone can legally keep you from changing ns, hosts etc.,
but they can make it expensive or next to impossible to find out how. I'm
not saying that is the case here... decide for yourself. :)
It looks like this domain name was purchased as a part of a package deal
which included a website. At that low price, of course they wouldn't want
you canceling and taking off with the domain name.
There is contact info at http://samspade.org which is best I could find. I
don't know what else to suggest if you've already emailed them. Sorry I
couldn't be more help.
If it were me, I'd get a similar name and use it instead.
(I think there's still a domain name sale going on over at
http://rightstuffdomains.com/ ) :)
