Since taking down my old CSP site, the control panel space allocation stats have read 89.0 MB of space used. Now, I've uploaded a blog (which I've just started) and a little forum (which is basically empty right now) and the panel still reads 89.0 MB used and I KNOW that it can't be that big yet. Is there a copy of the former site being held on RS somewhere?

When I downloaded a back-up of just my public_html, it was like 20MB zipped. That is just about what the old site was. Is it somehow downloading the old site even though the files are no longer there or is my new blog already up to 89 MB of space?

Hi Karen,

I have not removed your csp site from the server yet, in case you needed
something from it or decided to keep it. It does show 89 mb space used
of 250.

Your new site is completely separate from csp... has its own CPanel, etc.,
like a "separate account". It shows 13.+ mb space used of 250. That
CPanel shows the same.

Are you sure you're looking at the right CPanel? If so, perhaps using the
same password for both web spaces confuses the system. Let me know if
you can not access both CPanels.

Hi Helen,

I have decided to make use of the CSP domain (since that is the one that I've gotten well promoted. So, I uploaded my blog to CSP, as well as a small forum.

Other than what I've added, I had removed all of the old CSP site files from public_html a while ago. So, I can't understand why it is still registering 89MB unless what I have up there now (blog + forum) add up to that. The blog only has like 11 posts and the forum I just put up the other day.

Is there a back-up of the old site on there that you guys keep or something?

I see a folder named .fantastucodata OUTSIDE of the public_html folder.
It has folders inside for 4 images, phpAuction,Word Press, phpbb2,
phpwebsite. I'm not sure what that is - maybe fantastico instals create
that folder - like a folder named www is created by the system, containing
all the public_html files.

But everything both inside and outside of the public_html folder counts,
including mail, server-needed filesamd any backups saved to there,
rather than to your hard drive (but I don't see any of those).

Our backup system would not have any effect on this, as it is only for
server emergencies. That's why we tell everyone to back up to their
computer.

Only one other thing I can think of if that folder does not contain the
excess ... sometimes changes don't show up for 24-48 hours in CPanels.

I don't know "which files" are part of "which uploads" so I'm
actually "feeling my way with blinders on". But we'll figure it out and
meantime, you have plenty of space. :)

Thanks for checkin' ...

I was just curious. When I saw the 89MB, I remembered that that was what my original CSP site had grown to with the over 4,000 pics that I had in the gallery. But, since I just started the new site, I'm thinkin' ... WHOA! LOL!!!

Don't give it another thought ... I just get curious about the stupidest things...
