Default What Kind of Presents Are Your Favs?

OK, my turn. Don't want Dusty to get credit for ALL of the useless polls!

OK. another question that I could cop-out on and say "anything - it's the thought that counts". However, I have watched people shopping. A lot of buyers shop like it is "expected" and have no thought of the recipient. I saw one guy in line today who bought 3 dozen toasters as gifts. He kept bragging that he buys the same present for everyone on his list.

With hand-made products a bit more thought may be put into the gift. Unless they are craft people who are trying to get rid of unsold inventory.

Big presents take up a lot of room unless it is Plazma TV or a car (then you pay insurance and gas) - Got to worry about storage space for bulky items.

Homemade cookies and cakes are always great - never have to worry about storage space. By the teeth, past the gums, lookout stomach hear it comes.

I gotta say that I fall into the sentimental sap category. I love it when folks handmake stuff. Even the South Park stuff I love the most is when people make it themselves and put their own spin on the characters. Like I just purchased this gorgeous, I mean, gorgeous handmade South Park Christmas Tree Skirt on eBay. It has ball ornaments appliqued on it and each ball has one of the boys in it. Chef is decked out in a red chef's hat with fuzzy trim and a red suit, like Santas. It has beading all around it and small bells, glitter and sequins. I paid $30 for it and I think that is so sad. All that work. Folks are afraid to ask for a lot of money, when they make something. I know. You never think it is good enough. That's why I don't sell what I make.

My friend, Dave, is like me. Now, when he opens that South Park Scrabble game I made him, he's going to flip. But, again, it's his two favorite things ... Scrabble and South Park ... so I kinda hit that one on the head.

I just think that so much thought and hard work goes into a homemade gift. And, when someone takes the time to do that for me, I could cry (and usually do!)
